Stage 1 Performance Build Guide
Complete guide to building a Stage 1 performance engine with intake, exhaust, and governor removal.

Steps

Remove Governor
Follow the governor removal guide to remove the RPM limiter.

Install Air Filter Kit
Remove the stock air filter and install the Stage 1 high-flow air filter with adapter plate.

Install Header Exhaust
Remove the stock exhaust and install the performance header. Ensure proper clearance from the frame.

Rejet the Carburetor
Install a larger main jet to accommodate the increased airflow. Typically a #90-95 jet works well.
5
Break-In Period
Run the engine at varying RPMs for the first hour. Avoid sustained high RPM operation initially.
